Keeping Busy

No matter what COVID19 brings, I’m going to find ways to keep myself busy. With this, I’ve found I’m a pretty good interior decorator.

I moved into my home close to three years ago. Since, I’ve been laid off, I have had time to look around and see how I can spruce up my place, Shari Style. By it being springtime, I wanted it to look happy and gay with flowers, colorful pictures, and beautiful scenery throughout. I must say, it’s going well and once I complete my mission, I’ll share. Since we’re under this stay home rule, we might as well try and make our homes as comfortable as we can. Hopefully, I can make it as when I roll into every room, I feel as if I’m somewhere else.

Another thing I’ve been doing to keep busy is, hanging with Tiny! Who’s Tiny? Tiny, is my two-year-old Rottweiler! She so happy to have had me home these last few weeks.  In fact, she’s a little too happy.

I once heard, when a child turns two, he or she goes through a terrible stage. Although, Tiny’s not a child, she’s definitely going through the terrible twos. I’ve brought her a new toy for the last four weeks and she has managed to destroy each and every one of them. Once she’s done, she lays down for a nap while I’m left to clean up her mess.

Last week, I started my own obedience class with Ms. Tiny. I’ve been googling obedience tactus.

So far, Tiny will sit while I open and give her a treat. I will not give it to her until she remains sitting. I know she’s probably stressed out because it takes me a while to get her treat out due to my disability but she’s doing good waiting. She gives me that, OMG Shari look!

Next week we’ll work on stay and come. By the time I get finish with this Tiny thing, I may be the dog whisper.

I don’t know what COVID19 is going to bring but I remain faithful everything is going to be alright. I do know it helps to keep busy. Another thing I know is, if you have no faith, this is a great time to find some. It will get you through. While you at it, get a dog too. There’s never a dull moment with one.

Until next time, stay safe and uplifited

  1. Sounds like you are making the best of a not-so-great situation! Keep it up! I’m doing some of the same as far as the house in concerned.
